In the McFarland family, Black Eyed Peas are an actual New Years tradition. Now... traditionally Black Eyed Peas are supposed to be ate during your first meal of the New Years to bring you good luck. When I was a little girl we would all have a bowl of Black Eyed Peas after the clock struck midnight and before we went to bed! Since I don’t live at home anymore, and hardly make Black Eyed Peas I hardly ever eat them for my first meal of the new year, but always within the first few days!! This year was by far the best batch of Black Eyed Peas that my dad has ever made!! So yummy!!
